The Way It Works

So to be clear, the DDSC is a private party. We are not open to the public. This is an invite-only kind of thing. We consider this to be our social bubble and are protective of it. If you’re invited, that’s a thing! To be part of the gang, you need to be Covid vaccinated, with no exceptions. Beyond that it breaks down like this:

  • We’re a donation-based adventure. You don’t have to bring food or sides unless you really want to. Everything is provided. However, we will never shy away from donations. If you would like to contribute, we GREATLY appreciate it. See John for how to donate.
  • We are all-inclusive. Hatred, racism, sexism, etc are not cool, and will not be tolerated. We are gay, straight, trans, and ethnically diverse.
  • Keep it light. We talk about some serious stuff, but the goal is to have a good time. Jim and David may verbally spar sometimes, but seriously, don’t bring down the mood.
  • If you get sick, you have to let us know, so we can make sure everyone is safe. You may be asked to skip a week or two, or we may shut down for a week.
  • Yes, you may bring your friend or significant other, just make sure we’re aware.
  • If you have dietary restrictions, let us know. We cook to support sugar-free, wheat-free, dairy free, and meat-free. We can cover you too!
  • We provide a decent selection of beer, alcohol, mixers, and non-alcoholic beverages. Please note that while the Council of Threeâ„¢ does drink, we have folks who do not. We are a zero-pressure environment and we will gladly do our best to accommodate your liquid refreshment preferences.
  • Your cooks/organizers start planning the meal on Monday or Tuesday. Everyone gets notified on Thursday, and Friday is go-time!

Just so it’s said. We recognize that times are a bit challenging right now. Money is tight, and we’re all a bit stressed. We want to make sure it’s understood. If you’re invited, we’re not expecting you to bring anything, make anything, etc. And there is no cover. If you’re broke this week, that’s absolutely okay. Come drink our whiskey, and have a good meal, we’ll build up your spirits as best we can. And when times are good, you can chip in then. We’d rather have you join us than not.
